The Indian Cricket Team has geared themselves up for one of the most anticipated clashes in the World Cup so far against England, at Edgbaston in Birmingham. While Team India is yet to lose a match in the ongoing World Cup, the English side are, against expected lines on the brink of a possible elimination after losing back-to-back matches against Sri Lanka and Australia.
Also, the much awaited Orange-dominated away jersey for the team was finally unveiled by Team India’s official sponsor Nike on Friday- which the players will be seen donning on June 30 at Edgbaston.
The jersey is in contrast with the current jersey which sees the colour blue in majority. The new away jersey has the colour orange in majority with blue on the front of the jersey. The jersey looks a tad similar to what India wore during the 2009-2010 period.
Speaking on the same when asked about it during the pre-match press conference, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has rated the kit on the score of 10.
How much did Kohli rate the jersey?
“I quite like it, it’s right up there. I’ll give it an eight”, remarked Kohli when asked by one of the journalists to rate the new jersey on the score of ten.
He further opined that he rated it an eight not because of the sake of it, but he honestly felt that the contrast is quite nice, and the fitting too is great.
“Blue has always been our colour”- Kohli
He was also of the view that the jersey is good enough as a change for a day, but ‘blue’ has always been the team’s colour.
“It’s a nice change for one day. But I don’t think permanently we’ll be heading in that direction because Blue has always been our colour and we are very proud to wear that”, Kohli further added.
