WATCH: Virat Kohli reveals Sachin Tendulkar's advice before scoring 27th Test century vs Bangladesh at Eden Gardens

Virat Kohli reveals Sachin Tendulkar’s advice: The Indian captain opened up on his meeting with the legendary cricketer on Day 1.

Other than leading India to their third consecutive series whitewash in the recently concluded India’s first day-night Test match with the pink ball, captain Virat Kohli also became the highest run-scorer for his team on the back of his 27th Test century.

Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 13th over, Kohli stitched two vital partnerships with batsman Cheteshwar Pujara and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. Before getting out in the 81st over, Kohli scored a game-changing 136 (194) with the help of 18 fours.

Speaking during the post-match press conference in Kolkata, Kohli revealed having a conversation with legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar on Day 1 with respect to making the mental adjustment while batting in a day-night Test match.

“Actually, I spoke to Sachin [Tendulkar] bhaji on the evening of the first day and he made a very interesting point as well. Probably with the pink ball, you have to treat the second session like the morning session when it’s getting darker and the ball starts to swing and seam.

“So, first session you invariably play like you play from lunch to tea in a normal timing test match, then the second session would be like a morning session and the last session is like that evening session.

“So your planning changes, you know? Your declaration strategy, timing, everything changes. As a batsman, your setup changes,” Kohli was quoted as saying.
