Who has been declared Man of the Series in India vs Bangladesh T20I series?

Man of the Series in India vs Bangladesh T20I series: The Indian pacer was declared the Man of the Series after India won the series 2-1.

During the third T20I of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of India in Nagpur, India beat Bangladesh by 30 runs to clinch the series 2-1. Having lost the first match in Delhi, India played remarkably well to win two matches on the trot.

Chasing a 175-run target, Bangladesh gave a serious threat to the hosts in the first half of their innings. Opening batsman Mohammad Naim scoring 81 (48) with the help of 10 fours and two sixes was the highlight of their innings.

However, it was all-rounder Shivam Dube who stood tall on his potential to dismiss both Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim (0) and Naim.

What was started by Dube was finished by pacer Deepak Chahar who registered the best-ever T20I bowling figures and became the first Indian bowler to grab a hat-trick in this format.

After Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah won the toss and put India in to bat, the hosts scored 174/5 on the back of individual half-centuries from Shreyas Iyer (62) and Lokesh Rahul (52).

Chahar’s record-breaking match figures also saw him winning the Man of the Series trophy. In the three matches in this series, the 27-year old cricketer picked eight wickets at an average of 7, an economy rate of 5.41 and a strike rate of 7.7.

Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, Chahar admitted that he had never thought of bowling such a spell at the highest level. The pacer also revealed his change in role for this match.

“I hadn’t thought something like this would happen. I’ve just been wanting to work hard, it’s all god’s help that I’m here. Today the plan was to bowl upfront with the new ball. I was told I’ll be bowling the crucial overs. Happy the team management gave me that responsibility,” Chahar was quoted as saying.
