World Test Championship Points Table: India registered a clinical victory in the second Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata.

During the second Test of the recently concluded Bangladesh’s tour of India at Eden Gardens, India beat Bangladesh by an innings and 46 runs to register their third consecutive series whitewash. Having defeated West Indies 2-0 and South Africa 3-0, India have now defeated Bangladesh 2-0.
India’s victory hasn’t come as a surprise especially after them dismissing six opposition batsmen last night. Trailing by 241 runs in the second innings, Bangladesh were bundled out for 195 in 41.1 overs. Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the sixth over, veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim top-scored for the visitors with 74 (96) with the help of 13 fours.

With bowling figures of 14.1-1-53-5, fast bowler Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for India. Ishant Sharma, who registered his 10th Test five-wicket haul in the first innings, picked up four wickets in the second innings to win the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
Having picked 12 wickets at an average of 10.75, an economy rate of 2.68 and a strike rate of 24 in the series, Sharma was also declared the Man of the Series.

Having won the match, India have continued their unbeaten streak in the ICC World Test Championship. It is worth mentioning that India is the only team which hasn’t lost a single match in the tournament till now.

India had won 120 and 120 points after whitewashing West Indies in West Indies and South Africa at home respectively. Having won another series, they have earned another set of 120 points to strengthen their position at the top of the points table in the ICC World Test Championship.
With 116 points to their name after beating Pakistan today, Australia are below India. Having earned three times the points the second-ranked team, India sure have dominated the tournament till now.
