In recent times however, an article suggested that the wrestler may have passed away due to Covid-19 and his family and WWE were lying about it. Amanda Huber, Brodie’s wife has since taken to social media to slam the claim and rubbish the reports.

Fans however, still have no idea about the cause of death. While the family have been given their privacy in the matter by the fans and rightfully so, AEW commentator Jim Ross has now shed some light on the topic on his Grilling JR podcast.

“I still don’t know what — I haven’t seen of or even heard of an autopsy. All I know is that he had double lung failure. His lungs were so bad he could not qualify for a transplant” JR revealed.

“So, after as I heard the story; whether it’s totally accurate or not I don’t know. They took him off his machine to see if he could kick out himself. That was about the only chance he had. It just obviously did not work, so… a sad time for all of us. Again, he impacted so many of us on our roster that kind of went off the radar and so he will be very missed.”

AEW’s latest episode of Dynamite was presented as a tribute to the late wrestler. The show was praised by fans and critics alike and was a fitting parting gift to a phenomenal wrestler who was just as amazing outside of the squared circle.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
