Former WWE Supertstar reveals he was supposed to portray Sister Abigail

Former WWE Supertstar reveals he was supposed to portray Sister Abigail and the other puppets were also supposed to be played by other superstars.

Bray Wyatt returned to the WWE as a Children’s program host back in April 2019. The Firefly Fun House featured puppets of a rabbit, a buzzard and a witch among many others. Fans wondered if the puppets were meant to represent other wrestlers. Turns out that was the original plan.

In a recent conversation with Metro, former WWE Superstar Mike Bennett revealed that the puppets were indeed supposed to come to life. He was to portray Sister Abigail while Eric Young was gonna be the buzzard. However, the WWE changed their minds and the plans never came to fruition.

Former WWE Supertstar Mike Bennett  reveals he was supposed to portray Sister Abigail

“Early on when Bray Wyatt turned into The Fiend, Vince was always high on having Bray lead a group for some reason — he always wanted him to lead a group. We were about a week away from making it happen where me and Eric Young were gonna be part of Bray Wyatt’s group. We were gonna actually be — they were gonna bring to life the puppets.

“Each puppet was gonna represent an actual person. I don’t remember, there were talks that I was gonna be Sister Abigail and Eric Young was gonna be a buzzard.

“It was one of those things where, ‘You guys will play these characters. He’s portraying them as the puppets [in the Firefly Fun House], but then they’ll come to life. I thought it was really cool, I was ready to sink my teeth into it.

“But then, like most stuff there, right before it happens they’re like, ‘Oh yeah, we’re not doing that anymore.’ You’re like, “Oh, oh okay, cool. That would have been a really cool spot, but I guess I’ll go sit in catering.’”

Bennett was released by the WWE in April last year. He has since wrestled for several companies including the NWA. Bennett is currently scheduled to face ROH Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham at tonight’s ROH Best in the World PPV.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
