Renee Young confirms WWE departure

Renee Young confirms WWE departure. WWE Monday Night RAW’s first female commentator will leave the company after an 8-year stint.

There has been talk of Renee Young leaving the WWE for some time now. Several superstars have spoken on the topic except Renee herself. The WWE presenter finally opened up and confirmed that she is indeed leaving the WWE after nearly eight years.

“I am so excited to be here doing my last hurrah in WWE,” Renee said SummerSlam Kickoff tonight (August 23). “I’d be no other place than here at SummerSlam with this beautiful panel in the ThunderDome!”

Renee joined the WWE all the way back in 2012. She has since become one of the most recognizable personalities in the promotion. She has served the promotion as a presenter, backstage interviewer and commentator.

In fact, she was the first female commentator on WWE RAW back in August 2018. She continued in that role until October after she moved to SmackDown as a “special contributor” in 2019.

She most recently served as the host of WWE Backstage on Fox Sports 1, alongside Booker T and CM Punk, which was sadly cancelled by the network in June.

Some people have speculated that she may join AEW where her husband Jon Moxley is the world champion. However, she does have a no compete clause in her contract. ESPN is also rumoured to be interested in signing her.

Only time will tell where she goes from here, knowing Renee however, whatever she does end up doing, she will surely do her best in it to succeed.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
