Rusev on whether he dislikes WWE or just Vince McMahon

Rusev on whether he dislikes WWE or just Vince McMahon. The Bulgarian Brute was released from the company during the corona pandemic.

Rusev is another one of WWE’s multiple what ifs. He was given a strong start to life in WWE. The Bulgarian Brute beat several stars in his first year. He won against the likes of Mark Henry, Big Show and even John Cena and even won the United States Championship along the way.

His first pin fall loss came at his first ever Wrestlemania against John Cena who finally managed to prise the US title out of Rusev’s waist. However, the foundation had been laid for Rusev  to take the next step and now be pushed into the main event scene.

Instead, the WWE kept on booking him with stop start pushes that seemed to never go anywhere. However, Rusev managed to find relevance again through the ‘Rusev Day’ chants which would go on to become very popular with the fans.

However, instead of running with it the WWE once again failed to capitalise on his momentum. Rusev remained stuck in the mid card until he was released earlier this year. He has since openly spoken on his grievances with the promotion during his stay there.

The Bulgarian Brute, who goes by his real name Miro now, hosted a Q&A session on Twitter. One fan took the opportunity to ask him if he disliked the WWE or just the boss. Miro replied saying he hated neither of the two.

Another fan then asked him if there was a reason he disliked neither. Rusev then replied saying that the WWE provided him with a platform where he could live his dream and there was nothing to dislike about that.”

A classy reply from a man who has every right to feel wronged but has instead chosen to be the bigger man.

Rusev is the first and only Bulgarian to become a champion in the WWE. He has won the United States Championship on three different occasions. He announced his retirement from wrestling in one of his twitch streams back in July.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
