Chris Jericho says WWE may have regretted allowing him to be on Broken Skull Sessions

Chris Jericho says Vince McMahon and WWE may have regretted allowing him to be on Broken Skull Sessions podcast with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Chris Jericho recently appeared on the Broken Skull Sessions. This caused shockwaves in the wrestling word because the show is produced by the WWE and hosted by Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin and Jericho is one of AEW’s most recognized faces.

While speaking with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Jericho said that his appearance benefitted both companies. With WWE’s latest deal with Peacock, they had something big to offer their subscribers while AEW got to advertise themselves to a brand new audience.

Chris Jericho says WWE may have regretted allowing him to be on Broken Skull Sessions

“It was lightning in a bottle sort of thing with [respective company heads] Vince McMahon and Tony Khan giving their approval. I think it was also well-timed. The Peacock relationship with WWE was just starting. They wanted something huge out of the gate. It was perfect for us considering AEW had its first unopposed show [without NXT].”

Jericho went on to add that Dynamite’s ratings may have caused Vince McMahon to regret his decision for the interview to take place. He wasn’t sure if it would ever do it again but felt that even so, ‘it was one of the coolest moments in wrestling history.’

“Once that big Dynamite rating came in though, I think Vince may have had a little bit of second-guessing. Would they do it again? Maybe. I don’t know if you can find anyone with respect and goodwill on both sides that would allow that. If they don’t do it again, it was one of the coolest moments in wrestling history.”

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
