William Regal announces new match type to determine no.1 contender for NXT Championship at TakeOver called the Gauntlet Eliminator Match.
William regal promised two major announcements before the show. One of them turned out to be the Women’s Battle Royal to crown the number one contender for Io Shirai’s NXT Women’s title.

The other was the introduction of a whole new match type to determine Finn Balor’s next challenger.

The match, called the ‘Gauntlet Eliminator’ is a mix between a traditional Gauntlet match and a Royal Rumble match. It starts like a standard Gauntlet match with two men in the ring. A new wrestler will be added every 4 minutes and the last man standing will earn the right to face Finn Balor at TakeOver on Oct.4.

Earlier in the night, Finn Balor cut an amazing promo about how be built the NXT brand and how he’s back now when the brand needs him. Balor claimed that the NXT title was the important in the game because he held it.
