WWE announces Women’s Dusty Rhodes Classic

WWE announces Women’s Dusty Rhodes Classic. The announcement was made by Dexter Lumis on NXT New Year’s Evil tonight.

There have been many events and match types that have long been exclusive to the men. In recent times however, the WWE have made separate versions for their female talent as well such as the Women’s Money in the Bank or the Royal Rumble.

The WWE have now announced the inclusion of another addition to them. 2021 will see the first ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Classic. Now that the women’s roster has more depth than it ever has ever before, it has been decided that the women will have their own tag team tournament.

There have been no details regarding the event so far. We are in the dark regarding the date and the number of participants but those should become evident in the coming weeks. All we do know right now is that the inaugural Women’s Dusty Rhodes Classic will take place sometime this year, perhaps at a TakeOver.

With the introduction of the Women’s Tag Team titles back in 2019, there’s a chance the women could be competing for more than just a trophy. A title shot could also be on the line, giving the participants even more incentive to fight and try to win.

The WWE also announced that their next TakeOver will take place on February 14th. It will air live from the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, FL.

The Dusty Cup for the men was also announced with the first couple of matches scheduled. Adam Cole and Roderick will represent Undisputed Era. They will take on Breezango. The other match will see Ever-Rise battle it out with Grizzled Young Veterans.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
