WWE Backlash 2023 will be the first WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) after WrestleMania 40. The PLE will emanate from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Interestingly, this is also the first WWE PLE in Puerto Rico since the New Year’s Revolution event in January 2005. While not as big as the Showcase of the Immortals, the upcoming show has enough firepower in its card to present fans with an unforgettable experience. Roman Reigns will not be there to defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but the card more than makes up for it with a first time ever encounter between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar.

Apart from the two, WWE Backlash will also pit hometown heroes Bad Bunny and Damien Priest against each other.  Another wrestler of Puerto Rican descent, Zelina Vega, will compete for the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley.

WWE Backlash 2023 Card:

  • Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
  • Bianca Belair © vs. Iyo Sky – Raw Women’s Championship Match
  • Seth Rollins vs. Omos
  • Rhea Ripley © vs. Zelina Vega – SmackDown Women’s Championship
  • Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn & Matt Riddle vs. Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso
  • Austin Theory © vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Bronson Reed – United States Championship Match
  • Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest – San Juan Street Fight

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
