Real Madrid’s head coach Zinedine Zidane has always had his praise for the teenage sensation Marco Asensio. The left-footed player has revealed that that coach Zinedine Zidane had told him his left foot is the best he has seen since Lionel Messi’s.

Asensio has had a near perfect start to the season with four goals, in six games for the Madrid side this season, with two of them coming against a strong Barcelona side that they defeated to bring home the Super Cup.

The 21-year-old striker has always been in the news, with his fancy footwork and amazing eye-to-foot coordination. Zidane has never shied away from revealing that he has been pretty impressed with the striker’s work rate.

Asensio says the Frenchman has compared him to Barcelona maestro Messi, who is arguably the best player in the world.

“Zidane told me that since Messi, he had never seen a left foot like mine,” he told COPE. “I was a little impressed because Messi is a piece of a footballer,” he added.

Not a perfect start for Los Blancos:

While rival side Barcelona has kicked off the season with perfect scores, with 0 goals conceded in the league, Real Madrid has stumbled their way with draws at Valencia and another one at Levante.

Los Blancos have had their worst start to the league since the early 1970’s, where they had a similar point tally after the first three rounds in the league. In the three games, the Madrid side only managed to get five points, against the perfect nine points that their rivals Barcelona got from the opening three rounds of the competition.

Neymar’s exit, a surprise: Marco Asensio

While Barcelona has started the league perfectly, they did not have the transfer window going their way with one of their star players Neymar Jr leaving the Catalan side for a huge signing move to Paris.

Asensio had revealed that Madrid was utterly surprised when the big deal signing happened during the summer transfer window.

“We thought it was strange that Neymar left Barcelona,” he said.
“He was an important player for them and they couldn’t hold onto him. It seemed a bit strange.” he concluded.
