Mesut Ozil to Inter Milan

Mesut Ozil to Inter Milan: It has been reported that Mesut Ozil might be set to leave Arsenal in January.

Arsenal are currently 5th in the Premier League table after an excellent overhead kick from Lucas Torreira secured the three points for the Gunners last night.

Unai Emery’s side is level on points with Chelsea, who defeated Manchester City in the other game. However, the absence of Mesut Ozil, despite the club’s incredible unbeaten run so far, has irked the fanbase.

Ozil has not appeared in a single game for Arsenal since the end of the international break last month. The former German international was benched for the entirety of the game against Bournemouth, and has since not been included in the squad.

It has now been reported that Mesut Ozil’s agent are set to begin talks with Inter Milan over a potential move.

Mesut Ozil to Inter Milan:

Daily Mail, via Sun, reports that Ozil’s representatives, including his brother Mutlu, are setot begin transfer talks with the Serie A side for a potential move in January.

The 30-year old midfielder has missed Arsenal’s game against Tottenham and Manchester United with back spasms. It is not the first time when Ozil missed games for Arsenal due to back injury this season. He pulled out of the Fulham clash in October with a similar injury.

Daily Mail reports that Arsenal might be inclined to sell the midfielder for a cut-price of 25 million pounds. The selling of Ozil would cut the wage bill by 350,000 pounds/week.

Unai Emery dropped Ozil to bench in the away game at Dean Court, and stated that he needed ‘physicality’ in the game when asked about the decision to not play the midfielder. Ozil was an unused sub in the game.

He missed the game against Huddersfield last night, but wrote after the game, “Yesss! Three points and the run continues. Good job Gunners.”

What next?

There has been no update on Mesut Ozil’s fitness at the moment. The midfielder trained ahead of the game against Huddersfield earlier this week, but didn’t attain the required match fitness for the game.
