In a bid to make this edition of the Cricket World Cup more engaging, the International Cricket Council have come up with a set of exhilarating steps. Looking to engross the estimated 1.5 billion spectators set to glue into the quadrennial event globally, the governing council announced that it will be broadcasting all the warm-up matches of the event.
In a never before seen move, the body which charted out the 10 practice matches spread over 5 days ensuing from 24th May, has confirmed that all these matches will be telecasted on television.
Official broadcaster Star to take charge
The tournaments official broadcaster, Star Sports will be responsible for bringing forth viewership of all these matches in Asia and subsequently distributing them in Europe and other areas. The encounter can also be viewed on online streaming platform Hotstar.

These games provide another fantastic opportunity for fans to see world-class players at their local venue and allows the tournament to engage local schools and communities with another chance to get involved with the Cricket World Cup,” ICC said in a media statement.
2019 World Cup Warm-Up Matches Venues
The warm-up matches will be held over five days between May 24-28. In Bristol, Cardiff, The Ageas Bowl and The
Oval, the warm-up matches will be played on as many as four venues.
The Indian cricket team departed for England in the morning. The first practice match will see India square-off against New Zealand at The Oval on May 25 before they end their sojourn on the culminating day of the matches on May 28 against Bangladesh in Cardiff.
Although these matches have been accorded official status, they offer a pristine opportunity to teams to nail down on their final playing XI for the upcoming world cup and get acclimatize with the playing conditions at hand.

Also, with these matches not counted as international clashes, each side will be afforded the opportunity of fielding their full 15 member squad throughout the course of each match. Teams can try out all their bowlers while fielding while also being given the chance of replacing any batsman from the playing XI for a squad player while batting.
