3 player battles to watch out for Man Utd Vs Chelsea in today’s game between Manchester United and Chelsea at the Old Trafford.

Manchester United will face Chelsea in an epic clash tonight at the Old Trafford. Both the sides will start their new Premier League campaigns against each other, with both the English giants having a history against each other.

Although, both the teams have been struggling to be in the top-4 of the League, even though Chelsea ended third last time but they had their own struggles and Manchester United ending 6th in the league was embarrassing for the Red Devils.

To improve their situation, Manchester United have signed three players to fill the areas, which needed utmost attention. On the other hand, Chelsea had to remain the same due to the transfer ban, except for the incoming of Christian Pulisic, who was already committed with the Blues while being in Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester United have gone under massive transformation, as their main striker Romelu Lukaku has signed for Inter Milan on the final day of the English transfer window. Thus, bringing Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in the front. Whereas, the Blues lost their best player Eden Hazard to Real Madrid and Pulisic has arrived to replace the Belgian International.

Cleary both the managers don’t have enough experience in managing a club, as Frank Lampard had a brief stint with Derby before he returned to Chelsea this summer.

Whereas, Ole Solskjaer also had a little experience as a manager before he joined Manchester United as an interim-manager after Jose Mourinho’s sacking last year.

Henceforth, in a very short-span both the sides have faced a lot, so, there will be new approaches and ideologies rushing within both the squads. With this, there will be certain individual battles to look out during the clash and without further ado, the Sportsrush will discuss 3 player battles in tonight’s match.

#1 Christian Pulisic Vs Aaron Wan-Bissaka

3 player battles to watch

One of the most exciting additions in the Premier League is Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund. The USA International is expected to be an elite player in the coming years. The young winger is expected to fill in the shoes of Hazard, and his big test is against Manchester United to showcase his potential.

However, Pulisic is likely to face Aaron Wan-Bissaka tonight, who stormed the Premier League with his impeccable defensive record with Crystal Palace and propelled Manchester United to fill the gap on the right side of the defence by signing the English International.

Wan-Bissaka has been impressed with Manchester United during the pre-season tour, and slowly justifying his mammoth price tag. Hence, a battle between these two players will be interesting to watch.

#2 Jorginho Vs Nemanja Matic

3 player battles to watch

Surely, this game will be massively affected by these two midfielders. Jorginho doesn’t have stats to prove his calibre but the Italian International is a crucial player to the Blues and was instrumental in the Blues’ triumph in the Europa League.

On the other hand, Nemanja Matic has been with Chelsea for many seasons, and have also played with the current manager Frank Lampard. Thus, the Siberian International would be aware of Chelsea’s plans to some extent and could be a key in this midfield battle tonight.

Moreover, Matic has also stepped up on big occasions and could be instrumental in leading the young midfield at the Old Trafford.

#1 Anthony Martial Vs Cesar Azpilicueta

3 player battles to watch

With the departure of Romelu Lukaku, there is less competition for Anthony Martial in the lineup. Hence, the French International is expected to start on the left-wing.

But to contest against Martial, Cesar Azpilicueta will be deputed to stop the 23-year-old forward. Hence, this clash will be interesting to watch, as the Spaniard is a trusted lieutenant for Chelsea at defence, but Martial can run riots on his day.

With these, the contest between both the sides will be interesting to see, as the rivalry between both the clubs have gained prominence over the years, especially since the last decade.
