Leeds United to become Paris Saint-Germain’s feeder club. The reported takeover of the club is expected to cost more than what it took to acquire PSG.
Paris Saint Germain has created a huge presence in the French Ligue since they were taken over by Qatari Sports Investments (QSI) in 2011. PSG owners are now reportedly looking to do the same in English football now.

According to French newspaper Le Parisien, QSI are close to taking over Leeds United. They have reported that QSI have the objective of ‘broadening their portfolio in English football’ and are keen on Leeds after ‘studying the English market over the past two years’. Reports from France suggest that part of the deal will see the Yorkshire club become a feeder club to PSG.

The acquisition of the club however could prove to be costlier than what it took to acquire the French champions. Le Parisien claim that price of the takeover could be ‘far superior’ than the €79 million QSI splashed out on PSG.

QSI are hoping that they can help to turn Leeds’ fortunes around. Leeds united reached the Playoff semi-finals in 2018/19 and QSI will want to them to go further. They will aim to push Leeds to the Premier League and establish them as a top 10 contender. QSI believe that the acquisition will prove to be a financially rewarding move thanks to the amount of TV revenue and exposure that teams in England’s top tier have.
