Joe Gomez lifts Raheem Sterling like a child during their altercation in Liverpool vs Man City match at the Anfield last night.
Liverpool are hard to beat as it is but at Anfield, it’s a minefield for visiting sides. The Reds have turned their home ground into a fortress where no one leaves unscathed. However, it was not always like this. A few years back Liverpool were far off from the team they are today.
They would rise just to fall again. Whenever they made a player world class, he would soon leave them for another. Coutinho and Suarez both left for Barcelona to have contrasting careers and then there was Raheem Sterling.
Sterling was developed in Liverpool’s academy and is now an England international and is considered one of the best players in the world right now. However, to Liverpool fans he is a snake who left them to sink when Manchester City came calling.
It is for this reason the fans love the confrontation between Joe Gomez and Raheem Sterling last night. The match, already laden with controversy, saw Gomez and Sterling involved in a scuffle near the end of the match.

He was pulled away by James Milner but not before leaving with a smirk on his face.
