Sourav Ganguly: Surprised not to see Shubman Gill, Ajinkya Rahane in the ODI Squad
Sourav Ganguly: Surprised not to see Shubman Gill, Ajinkya Rahane in the ODI Squad. Says, selectors need to start picking same players for all formats.
India’s next assignment following the world cup is a trip to the Caribbean. The men in blue will face the West Indies in a tour that consists of 3 ODI’s and T20’s each followed by a two test match series.

The selectors announced the Squad for the tour on Sunday and some omissions have irked former India captain Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly took to twitter to express his disappointment over the exclusions of Ajinkya Rahane and Shubman Gill from the limited overs side.
There are many in the squad who can play all formats ..surprised not to see shubman gill ..Rahane in the one day squad..

Shubman Gill showed good form in the recently concluded five match unofficial ODI series between India A and West Indies A. He scored 218 runs in the series. The young batsman also won the Emerging Player of the tournament award in this year’s Indian Premier League.
Ganguly also stressed on the need for India to field the same players across all formats. This he said, would give them rhythm and confidence. ‘Great teams had consistent players’ he wrote while urging the BCCI to pick the best team instead of looking to make everyone happy instead.
Time has come for indian selectors to pick same players in all formats of the game for rhythm and confidence.. too few are playing in all formats ..great teams had consistent players ..it’s not about making all happy but picking the best for the country and be consistent..@bcci

I’ll keep scoring runs
Shubman Gill has himself come out and said that he is disappointed at not making the cut. To his credit, the youngster is looking to put the let-down behind him and is already looking forward to scoring more runs.
“I was waiting for the Indian senior team to be announced on Sunday and I expected to be selected for at least one of the squads.”
“It was disappointing not to get picked but I am not going to spend time thinking over it. I’ll keep scoring runs and performing to the best of my ability to impress the selectors,” Gill told CricketNext.
