Ajax midfielder Donny Van de Beek confirms Real Madrid interest by passing an official statement. 

Ajax midfielder Donny Van de Beek has spoken about Real Madrid’s interest in him. The attacking midfielder has been on the Los Blancos shortlist for a while and has been tipped to land him this summer.

News broke out that the Dutch club and Real Madrid have agreed transfer fees earlier today. Zinedine Zidane is fed up of chasing his first-choice Paul Pogba, who has been told to stay at the club for the upcoming season. The Red Devils have a 150 million price tag for the World Cup winner, putting off the Los Blancos.

Donny Van de Beek said: “Yes, Real Madrid are interested in me. But you go really fast. I can’t talk about what there is and isn’t. Right now, I want to concentrate on Vitesse.”

Real Madrid will look for options until the Premier League transfer window closes on August 8. If Paul Pogba is priced out, a deal for the Dutch midfielder could materialize in the coming weeks.

Ajax manager Erik Ten Haag has also said that the club would be resigned losing Van de Beek if big clubs like Real Madrid make an approach.

He said: “We don’t want to lose him but there’s little we can do if someone like Real Madrid comes for him.”

The 22-year-old made 57 appearances, scoring 17 and notching up 10 assists. He helped his side reach the Semifinals of the Champions League by scoring against Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, and Juventus. The midfielder, who has won seven national caps, is an integral part of Ajax side which stunned the entire world last season.

The Los Blancos will be asked to pay 65 million for the midfielder in order to secure his services.
