WATCH: Chris Morris’ perfect send-off to James Bracey during Gloucestershire vs Hampshire Vitality Blast match
Chris Morris’ perfect send-off to James Bracey: Hampshire all-rounder put on display aggression post dismissing Hampshire wicket-keeper.
During a South Group match of the ongoing Vitality Blast between Gloucestershire and Hampshire at Bristol, Hampshire all-rounder Chris Morris was seen giving an aggressive send-off to Gloucestershire wicket-keeper batsman James Bracey.
It all happened on the second delivery of the 17th over when Bracey hit a Morris delivery straight back to him. With Morris grabbing an impressive catch, he straight away signaled towards the batsman to walk back to the pavilion.
Bracey, who came in to bat at No. 3 in the third over, scored his maiden T20 half-century to put his team in a winning position. Before getting out, Bracey scored 64 (48) with the help of nine fours.
With the hosts needing 11 runs off 22 balls upon Bracey’s dismissal, they sealed the 140-run target in the following over. Other than Bracey, Gloucestershire captain Michael Klinger also scored 40 (38) with the help of two sixes. With bowling figures of 4-0-27-2, Morris was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors.
It was Hampshire captain James Vince who won the toss and chose to bat. In what was a mediocre batting performance from Hampshire, they scored 139/6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Having scored 44 (23) with the help of five fours and two sixes, opening batsman Aneurin Donald was the highest run-scorer for Hampshire.
While Chris Liddle registered bowling figures of 4-0-25-3, Tom Smith, Andrew Tye and Zak Chappell picked up a wicket each for the home team.
