Cristiano Ronaldo drops shock retirement declaration amidst new season with Juventus
Cristiano Ronaldo drops massive retirement declaration ahead of his new season with Juventus starting this week.
Cristiano Ronaldo known for his uptight fitness even during his last phase of his career has been still able to maintain his standard and remained at the top of football ladder.
However, the Portuguese International might start facing burnout at the age of 34, and probably have started planning the end of his career.
In a recent interview with Portuguese channel TV, as per the Sportsbible Ronaldo claimed that he can retire next year or might take his career long till his early 40’s.
“I don’t think about that,” Ronaldo told Portuguese channel TVI.Maybe I can leave my career next year… but I can also play up to 40 or 41.”
“I don’t know. What I always say is to enjoy the moment. The gift is excellent and I have to continue to enjoy it.” he further said.
The Portuguse International had an illustrious career and have possibly won every laurel available except the FIFA World Cup, which he might not be able to win ever.
Thus, any time to end his career probably would be the right time, as the 34-year-old international has done enough to be in the ranks of the greatest of all time.
Although, Ronaldo with his fitness is still at the highest level of his game, and still far better than young players from this generation. Hence, it would be too soon for him to hang his boots at this hour as the player still have atleast 2-3 years at the highest level.
Whereas, his other option of continuing his career till 40 is not bad either as it would be iconic to see Ronaldo continuing till 40’s and inspiring a whole generation ahead. But, the decision remains with Ronaldo, who is set to start his new campaign with Juventus.
