Who are the Shortlisted Candidates for India Batting Coach, Bowling Coach and Fielding Coach?
Shortlisted Candidates for India Batting Coach: BCCI have shortlisted three names each for the remaining three main positions in the support staff.
With Ravi Shastri being announced as the Head Coach of the Indian cricket team for the second time in succession, all eyes have not turned towards who will be part of the support staff under Shastri. The interviews of the same have finally been concluded by the selection committee.
Led by chief selector MSK Prasad, the selection committee comprised of former Indian cricketers in Sarandeep Singh, Gagan Khoda, Jatin Paranjape and Devan Gandhi. While the first four names were present at the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) in Mumbai, Gandhi attended via a video conference.
The interviews were conducted for the positions of Batting Coach, Bowling Coach, Fielding Coach, Physiotherapist, Administrative Manager and Strength and Conditioning Coach.
So…there’s been only one change in the coaching staff. Wouldn’t it have made more sense to just renew the existing contracts?? And seek applications for only one post that was up for grabs…. #IndianTeam

Shortlisted Candidates for India Batting Coach, Bowling Coach and Fielding Coach
The selection committee has shortlisted three candidates across departments and listed their names in the order of priority. The biggest change is likely to happen in the list of Batting Coach where former India opening batsman Vikram Rathour might replace current Batting Coach in Sanjay Bangar. The third candidate in this list is former England batsman Mark Ramprakash.
Bowling Coach B. Arun looks all set to retain his place. The other candidates in the list are former India bowlers in Paras Mhambrey and Venkatesh Prasad. Much like Arun, Fielding Coach R. Sridhar is also set to retain his job. The other two candidates in this category are Abhay Sharma and T. Dilip.
Among the physiotherapists, Nitin Patel has been given the top priority followed by Andrew Leipus and Vaibhav Daga. The first candidate from each category should make the final selection. As far as the other candidates are concerned, they are likely to be given roles with the A team, U-19 and the NCA (National Cricket Academy).
“We will call each [one] of them and inform them officially. Also, ask them [regarding] any other position or job which they hold, just like all the other Team India staff. Once they confirm that, we will complete the formalities and try and make them available at the latest,” BCCI CEO Rahul Johri was quoted as saying.
