Rahkeem Cornwall run-out vs Amazon Warriors: The Zouks’ all-rounder’s laziness saw him walking back to the pavilion in St Lucia.

During the 22nd match of the seventh season of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League between St Lucia Zouks and Guyana Amazon Warriors in St Lucia, Zouks’ all-rounder Rahkeem Cornwall was seen getting run-out in a highly casual manner.

It all happened on the third delivery of the sixth over when Zouks batsman Colin Ingram hit a Chris Green delivery towards Imran Tahir at short third-man. With the ball going in between Tahir and the point fielder, there was a certain opportunity of running a single.

In what should have been an easy single, it ended up in a run-out as Cornwall didn’t drag his bat despite easily reaching the crease. The 26-year old cricketer’s casual effort saw him walking back to the pavilion after scoring 6 (12).

After St Lucia captain Darren Sammy won the toss and chose to bat, the hosts scored 161/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the sixth over, all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme’s 11th T20 half-century aided the home team to score a respectable total.

Having scored 65 (37) with the help of three fours and five sixes, de Grandhomme top-scored for his team. With bowling figures of 3-0-12-3, Ben Laughlin was the pick of the bowlers for Warriors.

A match-winning 92-run partnership for the third wicket between opening batsman Brandon King and captain Shoaib Malik saw the visitors sealing the chase in the penultimate over. Having scored 81* (59) with the help of two fours and six sixes, King was declared the ‘Man of the Match’.

With seven victories in as many matches, Guyana are currently at the top of the points table.
