However, before the arrival of the two, there was one very special player; One who also emerged from South America, who also went by the name of Ronaldo. Ronaldo Nazario, or Brazilian Ronaldo as he is known now, was a very special talent.
Ronaldo broke into the scene in 1992 after scoring 44 times in 47 games for Cruzeiro while only 16! By 18 he had already represented Brazil in a world cup and had moved to Europe. Everyone today harps over Kylian Mbappe, Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho but the Brazilian was worlds apart.

As you can see from the video, Ronaldo was moving mountains at an age where most where still learning the tricks of the trade. Injuries and an off-field lifestyle would eventually catch up to him and Ronaldo suffered a rapid decline unfortunately.
However, one can only imagine what could have been had the Brazilian been a little more careful with his lifestyle and lucky with his injuries. There’s no denying that he would be talked in the same breath as both Messi and Ronaldo.
Regardless, he would still end his career with an impressive 414 goals in 616 matches; and for most people, is still the greatest player ever to kick a ball. However, in the fast-paced world that we live in, sometimes we could do with a little reminding.
