He has done it again. Lionel Messi scored a last minute winner as Barcelona beat Real Madrid in a thrilling El Classico at the Santiago Bernabeu. Twitter explodes after Messi blows the title race wide open !
In what was surely one of the matches of the season, Real Madrid took the lead through Casemiro mid way in the first half. But Messi equalized with a lovely Messi goal as the two sides were level as they headed in to the half time break.
Rakitic then scored a cracker with his left foot as Barcelona took the lead. Barce must have thought that the match was in the bag when Sergio Ramos got a straight red for a poor tackle on Messi.
But James equalized with five minutes to go to set up a grand stand finish to the game. Unfortunately for Real, the finish came from Messi as he superbly placed shot won Barca the match and kept their La Liga hopes alive.
