Paul Pogba Return: Ole Solskjaer gives update on Pogba’s return to lineup ahead of Manchester derby
Paul Pogba Return: Ole Solskjaer drops update on Pogba’s return to the lineup as the French International has been out with an injury.
Ole Solskjaer confirmed that Paul Pogba is likely to join team training next week but would not be available for the clash against Manchester City in the Premier League.
He was earlier in contention to join the squad for the Manchester derby but his recovery has halted his inclusion. He further said any chance of his return will be considered at the end of March.
“Paul’s still working with the physios outside and he won’t be training with the first team until next week. Then let’s see how long that will take. He needs time to get his football fitness back.” said Ole Solskjaer.
Pogba’s this season with Manchester United has been ravaged with his ankle and foot injury, the French International has made no more than 5 Premier League starts for the club this season.
His last appearance for the club came against Newcastle United in the boxing day fixture. His absence has only added to the uncertainty over his future, with Manchester United.
By the start of next season, Pogba will enter into the final year of his contract with the Red Devils, and Manchester United would be forced to transfer him to earn some profit.
Real Madrid is one of the favourite destinations for the French superstar if he moves out of Manchester United. In the absence of Pogba, Manchester United has struggled but Bruno Fernandes has uplifted the midfield.
Moreover, the return of Scott McTominay will also help. Thus, with the hefty sum Manchester United probably going to receive for Pogba, they should sign a suitable replacement for him.
