Chelsea News: Frank Lampard takes huge call on Kante's inclusion ahead of Wolves game

N’Golo Kante will sit out for the upcoming game against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the weekend.

Chelsea manager N’Golo Kante confirmed the unavailability of the midfielder N’Golo Kante for the weekend game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Frenchman has been on the sidelines for more games this season. He made a comeback against Liverpool in the Super Cup and featured in the home game against Leicester City in the weekend. The 28-year-old has been kept out of action for the last two weeks, owing down to the persisting ankle issue.

Since Frank Lampard was conscious about this issue, the former Leicester City midfielder did not travel for the International duties. He spent his rehabilitation program with the Blues, but it’s not enough to keep him fit for the weekend clash against Wolves.

During the pre-match press conference, Lampard confirmed the unavailability of N’Golo Kante. He also said that Antonio Rudiger and Mateo Kovacic to face Nuno Santo’s side.

“N’Golo is not fit, Kovacic is. This game has come too soon for him, hopefully close. We are waiting for that final step, but hopefully that will be the same time.” said Kante.

“He (Rudiger) is fit. It’s a choice for myself, but he will have an important role. We have missed him as we have with a few more front line players. It is important in a team. I don’t want a young team for the sake of it. He can be influential. He is ready to take on those roles.”

The Blues are playing with high intensity, but they are showing signs of defensive susceptibility. Cesar Azpilicueta and Kurt Zouma have been struggling to catch up with their opponents offensive players.
