Valencia star Ezequiel Garay becomes the first La Liga player to be tested positive of Coronavirus; player confirms his situation on social media.
The victims of coronavirus in Europe are increasing massively, and even celebrities are no exception to it, now Ezequiel Garay has become the first La Liga player to be tested positive of Coronavirus.
The 33-year-old superstar confirmed about his situation by posting a video on social media. “I have tested positive for coronavirus, I feel very well and now it only remains to pay attention to the health authorities, for now, to be isolated.”
With this, Garay has been added to the list of handful of footballers who have been tested positive of the Coronavirus, Daniele Rugani was the first elite footballer to be tested positive of the virus.
Followed by Callum Hudson Odoi, Mikel Arteta, German Pezzella and Patrick Cutrone. The Coronavirus pandemic has affected all the sporting events in the world, especially Europe.
As of now, La Liga has also been suspended for the next two matchdays, the decision comes after Real Madrid were placed into isolation and all activity at their training complex was cancelled after one of the club’s basketball players tested positive.
A statement released by La Liga read: “Given the circumstances that are coming to light this morning, referring to the quarantine established in Real Madrid and the possible cases in players from other clubs,”
“La Liga considers it appropriate to continue to the next phase of the protocol of action against COVID-19. As a result, in accordance with the measures established in Royal Decree 664/1997 of May 12, [La Liga] agrees to postpone at least the next two match days.”

Apart from La Liga, all the other leagues from the different countries have been suspended along with UEFA competitions. Meanwhile, there are doubts over the postponement of Euro 2020.
