SRH troll Kings XI Punjab: The two Indian Premier League franchises batted for their respective star opening batsman.

The outbreak of a “pandemic” in coronavirus has affected cricket tournaments in more ways than one. Cash-rich Indian Premier League is among the many tournaments which have been postponed with no confirmation on their future at least for the imminent season.

Having said that, the same hasn’t stopped franchises in engaging in banter on social media platform Twitter. In the absence of on-field action, franchises seem to be making sure that their fans remain entertained.

The two franchises in question this time round are SunRisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab. It all started after host broadcaster Star Sports compared Sunrisers’ David Warner and Kings XI’s Chris Gayle on Twitter.

It is worth mentioning that both Warner and Gayle are hard-hitting left-handed opening batsmen. While the latter is far senior than the former, both the players have in in them to play game-changing innings especially in the T20 format.

Star Sports asking about which one out of Warner and Gayle being the more destructive batsman invited instant response from Kings XI. However, them throwing light on Gayle’s overall T20 record and not what he has done for KXIP invited severe criticism from the fans.

On the other hand, Hyderabad also made it a point to gain advantage over Punjab by bringing into contention the number of Orange Caps and IPL trophies both the players have won.
