Jasprit Bumrah reveals conversation with Trent Boult: Mumbai Indians’ fast bowler and captain opened up on a lethal bowling attack.
Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is among the plentiful cricketers who would have been playing the 13th season of the tournament had it not been for the novel COVID-19 pandemic.
With cricket not happening at any level due to the aforementioned pandemic, most of the players are taking to their respective social media handles to engage with fans in times when they don’t have much else to do.
Sharma, who was recently seen in an Instagram live session alongside India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and former England captain Kevin Pietersen, was seen yesterday alongside India and Mumbai Indians fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah on the same platform.

In the IPL auction before this season, MI had bought six players including fast bowlers in Trent Boult, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Digvijay Deshmukh, batsmen in Chris Lynn and Saurabh Tiwary and spinner Prince Balwant Rai Singh.
“We had a good team. I was looking forward to this [IPL season]. We were planning for years to have a lethal bowling combination and we had it this time round. We added Chris Lynn into a set batting lineup. All bases were covered,” Sharma was quoted as saying on having their latest recruits.

The addition of Boult means that Indians comprise of two premier fast bowlers in him and Bumrah for this season. When Sharma asked Bumrah about the prospect of him sharing the new-ball with Boult, Bumrah revealed a conversation which he had with Kiwi pacer during India’s tour of New Zealand earlier this year.
“When he [Trent Boult] was in Delhi [Capitals], we had spoken to each other regarding bowling slower balls. When we were in New Zealand, he told me that he was interested to bowl in Mumbai [Wankhede Stadium] because of the bounce and the swing with the new ball. He was looking forward to IPL 2020,” Bumrah said.
