MS Dhoni retirement news: Sakshi Dhoni quashes rumours of Dhoni’s retirement
Sakshi Dhoni quashes rumours of Dhoni’s retirement: The wife of the legendary cricketer took to her social media platform to settle the discussion.
Despite rarely giving interviews or posting across social media platforms, veteran India wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s name still manages to do the rounds in the country.
Dhoni, who last played for India during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, missed the West Indies tour (and all subsequent series) last year due to his training for the parachute regiment of the Indian Army in Kashmir valley.
Dhoni was subsequently in the news in January when his name wasn’t to be found in the list of annually contracted Indian players. It was widely anticipated that a stellar IPL 2020 season might open doors for Dhoni’s international comeback keeping eyes on the ICC T20 World Cup 2020.
However, with IPL 2020 getting postponed indefinitely, the status of Dhoni’s international comeback (if any) has become all the more complicated.
Sakshi Dhoni quashes rumours of Dhoni’s retirement
It was yesterday that “#DhoniRetires” was trending throughout the day on social media platform Twitter. With no kind of official announcement from the 38-year old player, it was both surprising and hilarious as to how mere reports convinced numerous people to believe that the former captain has hung his boots from international cricket.
Considering the amount of tweets around the hashtag, Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Dhoni took to the same platform to quash rumours about her husband’s retirement. “Its only rumours ! I understand Lockdown has made people mentally unstable ! #DhoniRetires .. Get a life !,” read Sakshi Dhoni’s tweet which she deleted soon after posting it.

It is worth mentioning that it is not for the first time that Sakshi took to her Twitter handle to put an end to speculations around her husband.
The dangers of social media! The attempt to make DhoniRetires trend. I have no idea why anyone would want to do this, and there is not a scrap of actual evidence. Please give one of India’s greatest and most loved cricketers his space. If Dhoni wants to retire, he’ll let us know!

From rubbishing similar claims in September 2019 to slamming the “false news” regarding a donation made by Dhoni during the COVID-19 pandemic, Sakshi rarely shies away from putting forward the truth.
