Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hits back at Roy Keane over David De Gea criticism. The former Manchester United captain called him the most overrated goalkeeper.

Roy Keane is not a very patient man. He is also known to be brutally honest with his opinions. Both of these traits were on display after the end of the first half between Tottenham and Manchester United last night at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

United conceded a goal in the 27^th minute in the sloppiest of ways after Harry Maguire allowed Steven Bergwijn to run past him and David De Gea failed to stop a shot straight at him. At half time, Keane was seething with what had just happened.

“De Gea is the most overrated goalkeeper I’ve seen in a long time,” Keane said. “I am sick to death of this goalkeeper. I would be flying in at half time, I would be swinging punches at that guy. This is a standard save for a standard, international goalkeeper. I am flabbergasted.”

“You’ve got to flex your muscles,” Keane added. “Maguire and De Gea, I wouldn’t even let them on the bus after the game. Get a taxi back to Manchester.”

“These are established international players. We’re trying to get in the top four. Shocking. I am disgusted with it. They should hang their heads in shame.”

Manchester United manager and Roy Keane’s former teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was more forgiving of his keeper.

“David did really well,” Solskjaer said. Roy was a fantastic midfielder and he’s a good friend of mine.

“But I’m not sure he’d have stopped it either. David was a bit disappointed but the ball was moving through the air. We reacted well.”

The draw keeps United at 5^th place with a game more than Chelsea, who are directly above them, and Sheffield United, who are directly below them in the table. Tottenham on the other hand, are at 10^th place with 42 points.
