The Chelsea goalkeeper has reportedly informed the Maurizio Sarri that he wants to leave the club.

Chelsea’s goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has cleared his intentions to leave Chelsea to the new manager, Maurizio Sarri. ESPNFC reports that sources close to the club have informed the outlet that the player has told the Chelsea manager that he doesn’t want to stay.

Maurizio Sarri earlier told the media yesterday that he will hold talks with Courtois regarding his future at the club. The Belgian goalkeeper returned to Chelsea’s pre-season training today, where he informed Sarri about his decision.

Real Madrid have been strongly linked with a move for Chelsea’s current no. 1 goalkeeper, and Courtois is reportedly keen on the move. The Belgian delivered terrific performances at the World Cup and has been consistently performing for Chelsea. Courtois won the Premier League Golden Glove in 2016-17.

The Belgian goalkeeper has earlier played for Real Madrid’s city rivals, Atletico Madrid. Courtois earlier confided that he wants to move closer to his family, who currently resides in Madrid.

Chelsea have been reluctant to sell the goalkeeper as it wouldn’t have given them time to sign a new first-choice keeper. Although now, it seems like there is no choice for Maurizio Sarri but to part ways with the Belgian shot-stopper.

The London club played against Manchester City for the Community Shield yesterday, which they lost 2-0. Chelsea were without their two Belgian stars, Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard. The latter is also heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea, with Real Madrid being his preferred destination.
