NBA Jersey messages of Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, Rudy Gobert and others revealed ahead of NBA Bubble restart

NBA Jersey messages of a host of players(Damian Lillard, Chris Paul etc.) have been released way prior to the NBA bubble restart in Orlando.

Until now, jersey messages of Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Rudy Gobert etc. have been released and confirmed.

Chris Paul leads the way with “Equality” along with Rudy Gobert. Whereas, Lillard will wear “How many more?” on his back in Orlando.

These messages on the back of the players’ jerseys were prompted after the tragic death of George Floyd, which in turn brought forward many forms of social injustices that take place in society. 

Other players are slated to reveal their jersey messages in the next few days and it will be interesting to see what the other top players like LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard go for.

The list of messages agreed between the NBA and the players association includes, “Black Lives Matter; Say Their Names; Vote; I Can’t Breathe; Justice; Peace; Equality; Freedom; Enough; Power to the People; Justice Now; Say Her Name; Sí Se Puede (Yes We Can); Liberation; See Us; Hear Us; Respect Us; Love Us; Listen; Listen to Us; Stand Up; Ally; Anti-Racist; I Am A Man; Speak Up; How Many More; Group Economics; Education Reform; and Mentor.”

Social justice messages at Bubble restart

The NBA brought forward the idea of allowing players to have social justice messages at the back of their jerseys during the restart.

Players can chose to opt out of this, but for those who want to sport a message on their backs, can do so for the first 4 days. After the first 4 days, if they still want to keep the message, they can, but their jersey will also have their last name beneath the message.

The league and union have agreed to paint “Black Lives Matter” on the courts in each arena. 

The NBA restarts on 30th July at the “Bubble” in Orlando. Many teams have already reached the bubble and are in the mandatory two-day quarantine.
