Indian cricketers’ training camp to be conducted in Dubai, say reports
Indian cricketers’ training camp to be conducted in Dubai: If a report is to be believed, Indian players will resume training in Dubai.
The dire COVID-19 situation in India hasn’t allowed its cricketers to officially resume training after remaining indoors for nearly four months now.
While some players have been uploading posts of training across their social media platforms, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) hasn’t been able to bring together players to one city and conduct a training camp much like Sri Lanka or most recently New Zealand.

Given the unprecedented and extended nature of the break, players will at least require a month to find their touch before playing any sort of competitive match.
If a recent report in The New Indian Express is to be believed, BCCI is planning to conduct a training camp in Dubai as conducting one in India remains a distant possibility due to minimal decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases.
Indian cricketers’ training camp to be conducted in Dubai
With all of India’s international fixtures including a white-ball home series against England getting delayed due to the global pandemic, it seems as if the Indian players’ first return to competitive sport would be in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League.
Taking into consideration the strong chances of IPL 2020 being played outside India (either of UAE or Sri Lanka), it appears wise to take the players to the ICC Academy in Dubai before the cash-rich league.
“By the looks of it, UAE will mostly host the IPL, unless the situation improves dramatically in Mumbai. So the camp there makes more sense in every way possible. Once the IPL venue is decided, then expect things to move forward quickly,” a source in the vicinity of the development told The New Indian Express.
