Kane Williamson: The Kiwi captain’s absence was bringing severe criticism for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020.

During the 11th match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals in Abu Dhabi, Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to field in their third encounter.

“We will bowl first, the dew might play a role in the second innings. Our preparations and training has been on point, the frame of mind is good. Each one knows their roles in the team well, they have stood up for the cause,” Iyer said during the toss.

As far as the changes for Delhi are concerned, they have made a lone change by including fast bowler Ishant Sharma for Avesh Khan. It is worth mentioning that Sharma missed the first two matches due to a slight injury.

Coming on the back of losing the first two matches, Sunrisers captain David Warner announced a couple of changes which included them finally giving a spot to former captain Kane Williamson.

“Not too disappointed with that [loss against Kolkata Knight Riders], we fell short by 20-30 runs, we now have the bowling to defend scores. We have our plans for the bowling group, just need to stick to it,” Warner said during the toss.

Williamson, who made himself available in the last match after recovering from a quadricep injury, has been roped in for all-rounder Mohammad Nabi.

The other change that Hyderabad have made to accommodate a bowling option is include debutant Abdul Samad for wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha. Having missed the first match, 35-year old Saha struggled for most part of his 30 (31) against Knight Riders.
