James Rodriguez sends a heart warming farewell message to Real Madrid

New broke out yesterday that James Rodriguez has shockingly decided to join German superpower Bayern Munich.

This comes as a huge shock to everyone, as James was widely expected to come to the Premier league this summer. A host of clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea were interested in buying James.

The Colombian was reported to be deemed surplus to Real Madrid’s requirements last season. After a promising debut season, Rodriguez’s Madrid career has fizzled out.

The nadir of his tenure at Madrid was last season Champions League final, when he was not even given a place in the squad.

James was the star of the last World Cup, when he finished as the top scorer in Brazil.

Those dazzling performances in Brazil were the reason James earned himself a dream move to Real Madrid.

For someone who is expected to drive Colombia’s World Cup campaign, James understands that he will need to play regularly if he needs to be in peak condition heading into the tournament in Russia.

This move to Bayern will give James the opportunity to remain at an elite European club as well as help Madrid get one of their highest earners off the books.

And now James has sent a heart warming message to all the Real Madrid fans.

“Dear Madridistas. I am overwhelmed with gratitude after three wonderful years proudly wearing this shirt. I have love in my heart. Best wishes.”

James did not always seem happy during his time in Madrid, but he did have some good moments at the Bernabeu.
