“Very unlikely I’ll be doing Formula 2”- Callum Ilott reveals that it is tough for him to continue in Formula 2 or participate in any motorsport.

Callum Ilott had a terrific season in Formula 1 this season, and currently is running at the second position in Formula 2. Yet his numbers weren’t good enough for the F1 bosses to give him a seat in 2021.

But at the same time, drivers ranking below him in F1 have gained promotion. On the other hand, Ilott has now questioned his further active time in F1.

“It looks unlikely I’ll be racing, it’s quite late in the season. A lot of things are full or too expensive. Very, very unlikely I’ll be doing Formula 2. I’ll probably be in and around the paddock in #F1.” said Ilott as claimed by Thomas Mahner.

So, possible, Ilott could be a reverse driver of Ferrari and may get promotion in the sister team Alfa Romeo, once Kimi Raikkonen decides to leave the sport.

Honestly, Ilott had no space this season

It is true Nikita Mazepin is getting his move to Haas because of the lucrative investment his father Dmitry Mazepin is going to make on the team.

However, even if Mazepin had not been given a mob=ve to F1 for the next season, it is unlikely that Ilott had been given a space in F1 unless he had won the F2 championship.

Without the capital Mazepin bringing in, Haas would’ve remained with Romain Grosjean to not risk having two rookie drivers in the lineup. But Mazepins made the offer Haas couldn’t refuse.

On the other hand, Ferrari had to promote Mick Schumacher this season, especially after his spectacular season in F2. Only if there were numerous exits in F1 this season, then only Ilott had a genuine chance.
