'They're talking about how Clippers lost, not how we won': Nikola Jokic disdainful of media for Nuggets coverage

Nikola Jokic remains supremely disdainful of the media for focusing on the Clippers instead of them for their playoff run.

The Nuggets became the first team in NBA history make two comebacks from 3-1 deficits in the same postseason. Jamal Murray and Donovan Mitchell had a record-breaking shootout in the first round, while Jokic showed up big versus the Clippers. All in all, the young duo has put the league on notice.

Losing to the Lakers in 5 games would have hurt, but one can see it as the next step in their progression. The Nuggets first made the playoffs with Jokic last year, when they took the Trail Blazers to 7 games in the second round.

Nikola Jokic wants some more respect put to the Nuggets

The Nuggets’ comeback against the Clippers was some fairytale stuff. They were in double-digit deficits during the 3rd quarters both of Games 5 & 6. They were also down by double digits for most of the first half of Game 7.

The manner in which they kept their wits about them, clamped down on Kawhi and Paul George and manufactured great offense was simply stupendous. Understandably, Jokic feels hard done by the media coverage, which focused all on the duo’s performances.

The Nuggets are now a real force to reckon with out West. After finishing as the 2nd and 3rd seeds over the past couple of seasons, they have proven their talent levels and sent alarm bells sounding. Jokic is the best offensive big man in the league, Murray is an amazing scorer and the Nuggets have a solidly built rotation that delivers.
