‘Michael Jordan too was eliminated’: Giannis Antetokounmpo highlights Bulls legend’s struggles as inspiration for 1st NBA title

Giannis Antetokounmpo is taking inspiration from Michael Jordan and his journey to two threepeats from first round exits with the Bulls.

In an interview with Brian Scalabrine, the Greek Freak was reflecting on his career thus far. He realizes that he has a lot of potential to become better, especially in the half court. He admitted to as much:

“I got to keep improving every day. I got to be able to play set offense. There’s a lot of things I can do better and there’s a lot of things the team can do better. Obviously the last two years we wanted to make the Finals. It’s a work in progress.”

The Bucks have done their best to retool the roster around Giannis over the years. The Greek Freak has seen the vision of the front office and likes it. His NBA record $228 million extension is proof that he has faith in his front office.

Giannis is humble, yet motivated by the slim chance he has to chase down Michael Jordan.

“I’m one of the most realistic people…. You got to hurt. You got to hurt to get it. One of the greatest players, Michael Jordan, and his team, he got to the playoffs and he got, he got hurt. He got eliminated, he was disappointed. He went through the struggles. It’s going to take time.”
