“Stephen Curry was one of my favorite players growing up”: Knicks rookie Immanuel Quickley raves about Warriors star ahead of their game
New York Knicks rookie Immanuel Quickley waxed eloquent when he talked about playing his favorite player Stephen Curry.
Immanuel Quickley was the 25th pick in this season’s NBA Draft. The rookie out of Kentucky University has proved to be a promising player for the young Knicks organisation. The New York Knicks will be taking on the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center.
Immanuel Quickley spoke about his much-awaited moment in the league to play against his favourite player Stephen Curry. The two time MVP is Quickley’s favourite player. Quickley even admitted that he might get a little starstruck when he steps on the court sharing it with Curry. He also said that his liking for Stephen Curry won’t stop him from going all out and winning for his team.
“It’s going to be cool. I feel our team is really locked in. Steph Curry is a great player—one of my favorite players that I grew up watching.”

Immanuel Quickley showers the praise on Steph Curry
Quickley also appreciated how Curry had revolutionized the way the game was played, while also playing with joy: “He’s changed the game shooting the ball.”
So far in the 11 games, Quickley has played, he’s been efficient for the Knicks coming off the bench. He is averaging 10 points, 2.6 assists and 1.6 rebounds in the 18 minutes he gets per game. While Stephen Curry has been putting up great numbers for the Warriors, averaging 28.2 points, 6.2 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game.
The New York Knicks are having a good start to the 2020-2021 season, having a record of 7 wins and 8 losses. The Knicks are right now at the 8th spot. Whereas, for the Golden State Warriors, they have started their campaign with a record of 7 wins and 6 losses.
