‘It’s gonna be a battle’: Lakers’ Anthony Davis hypes up prospective Finals series with Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving on the Nets
Anthony Davis expects to have a tough time facing the Brooklyn Nets if the Lakers make it to that stage of the playoffs this year.
After a great offseason in which they reinforced the squad with new signings, the Lakers retained their position as favorites to repeat. However, the Nets have thrown a spanner in the works. 3 weeks after the new season began, they acquired James Harden from the Rockets.
This has resulted in the formation of a Big 3 in Brooklyn. In the 8 games that they have played since, they have a 6-2 record. One of their two losses came in the absence of Kevin Durant. The Nets racked up 148 points in regulation against the Thunder last night without him.
Ever since the Nets acquired James Harden, they clearly became the favorites to emerge from the East. The Lakers, meanwhile have floundered of late. The best team they’ve beaten this season are the Bucks, who didn’t shoot well in the game against the Lakers.
‘They look good on paper’: Anthony Davis’ reaction to Harden moving to Brooklyn
Anthony Davis knows the difficulties he’ll face against the star-studded Nets team. Kevin Durant has returned from his injury and looks better than before. Kyrie Irving has been efficient scoring the ball, while James Harden has had no difficulties in finding his chemistry with this team.
“They’re definitely a threat. They’re a team that can score at will. Are (Brooklyn) a good team. I think they’re the favourites to win the East since [James Harden] went over there. It’s gonna be a battle.”

It is highly anticipated that the two teams would potentially be the NBA finalists this season. It’ll be fun to see what both the teams have to offer and how they will prepare to face the other.
