“Stephen Curry is playing like Michael Jordan”: Warriors star becomes first player since Bulls legend to total 741 points in the first 25 games of a season at 32 or older
Warriors star Stephen Curry joined Michael Jordan in an exclusive club of 32-year-old or older players with his 32 points last night.
The Warriors made light work of the Spurs in their second successive clash last night. After the Spurs secured a close win on the night before, Steph came out all guns blazing. He totaled 32 points again, but in fewer minutes this time.
Golden State established separation from their opponents in the third quarter of the night. They outscored San Antonio by a margin of 36-20 in that period, when Steph played all 12 minutes. The Warriors’ star pairing was reintroduced for a matter of seconds in the 4th by Steve Kerr.
Steph knocked down 11 of his 20 shots from the field on the night, and his continuous attacks towards the rack created hordes of opportunities for the rest of the team. The team had 26 assists for its 40 field goals on the night.
Stephen Curry joins Michael Jordan with a special scoring record
The Warriors star became the first player aged 32 or more to reach a total of 741 points through the first 25 games of a season since MJ. Curry is set to turn 33 in 5 weeks’ time, by when the Western Conference playoff picture will be clearer.
Kevin Durant could shortly become the next player to join Steph and MJ in this club. The Nets superstar is also playing at an MVP level to begin this season. Through 18 appearances (one of them curtailed), KD is averaging 29.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game.

Stephen Curry will need to keep this level of performance up for the Warriors to battle through the Western Conference. The gauntlet of challengers for the final 5 playoff spots in the Conference is getting quite crowded. 10 teams are competing for 5 playoff spots and a play-in game.
