“Stephen Curry is not the greatest shooter ever”: Ray Allen snubs Warriors star as ‘GOAT’ 3 point shooter, reveals his controversial pick

Ray Allen says that Reggie Miller is the greatest shooter of all time, not Stephen Curry, despite Steph being on track to pass him.

Steph Curry perhaps cemented himself as the greatest shooter the NBA has ever seen in his unanimous MVP season where he drained an inordinate 402 3s in that season. He is on pace to eclipse Ray Allen’s record by a mile, by the time the Warriors legend has his jersey hanging in the rafters.

However, this doesn’t seem enough for the 2x champ, Ray Allen, who claims that Steph isn’t the greatest shooter from beyond the arc, in NBA history.

Allen said, “Yes, Reggie is the GOAT because of the way he set the game up and the way he played the game. Obviously, I incorporated a lot of who he is into how I played. He was the standard bearer. Without him, we don’t have a formula for moving forward. So that’s how I view it.”

Ray Allen puts Reggie Miller over Stephen Curry among the GOAT shooters

Ray Allen further delved into how he views different players in the history of the NBA. “It comes with categories when you talk about shooters. Steph is in a category of his own, the way he plays the game. When I think about shooters, someone like Klay Thompson comes to mind. He’s more in the realm of how I shot, how Reggie shot. Steph is more on the ball point guard shooter.”

It is understandable if Allen feels the need to categorize shooters. If you’re talking about catch-and-shoot players, guys like Allen, Thompson, and Kyle Korver come into the picture.

However, if you’re analyzing it as who can get the ball into the basket from beyond the arc in any way possible, Steph Curry is the go-to man. Reggie Miller himself came out to anoint Steph the undisputed ‘greatest 3-point shooter of all time’ crown
