Devin Booker admits to catching players with poop in their shorts during games: ‘I’ve seen a few white shorts with accidents on their backside’
Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker admitted recently that he’s caught players with a ‘little accident’ on their backside.
Basketball is a fast-paced 48-minute game with a few timeouts during the games. Inclusive of all the breaks, a typical NBA game can go on for two hours on average.
During this two hour span, a player has to overcome many physical hurdles – to be able to physically fit to play four quarters. A player also has to overcome many mental hurdles – be mentally strong during the course of the game. In a similar way, biological hurdles also affect a player’s game.
During the game, professional players push their bodies and leave all their energy on the floor. Sometimes these can lead to a few badly timed bowel movements. Devin Booker said:
“I’ve seen a couple white shorts where you see someone had a little accident on the back. Just ask any equipment manager.”
Another NBA veteran, Lance Thomas also added his observations on this topic:
“That’s definitely a thing. Usually, when someone’s at the free-throw line you notice it. Especially if they’re wearing white.”
‘I didn’t have any injury, just wanted to go to the bathroom’: Paul Pierce in the 2008 NBA Finals
At the end of the day, no matter how great the athlete is, they are humans. Despite the peculiarity of the subject, we should appreciate the athletes for how much they have to undergo during their career.
One of the most infamous ‘injury’ breaks in the league was back in 2008. During the 2008 NBA finals against the Los Angeles Lakers, Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics had to take an ‘injury’ break. 11 years later, Pierce admitted that he took the break to attend nature’s call. Pierce truthfully said:
“I have a confession to make: I just had to go to the bathroom. Something went down and I had to go to the bathroom.”
