Rishabh Pant’s reverse sweep: The Indian wicket-keeper batsman showed no respect whatsoever to the legendary English bowler.

During the second day of the fourth Test of the ongoing England’s tour of India in Ahmedabad, India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant’s reverse sweep off veteran England pacer James Anderson became the highlight of his innings.

It all happened on the first delivery of the 83rd over when Pant brought out a reverse ramp over the slips to amaze one and all. Pant particularly gained applause for showing the audacity to play such a shot off a bowler who has picked more than 600 Test wickets.

The fact that Pant played the shot on only the 13th delivery after the new ball was taken speaks highly about his confidence on his skills. It is worth mentioning that Pant had earlier welcomed Anderson into the spell in his last over with a couple of authoritative boundaries.

Pant, who went on to score his third Test century, put on display a special range of batsmanship at the Narendra Modi Stadium today. While he was seen grinding hard when India were behind England’s first-innings total, he was quick enough to change gears after completing his half-century and putting India in a safe position.

Before losing his wicket to Anderson in the 85th over, Pant scored a phenomenal 101 (118) with the help of 13 fours and two sixes as India are now leading by 70+ runs in the first innings.
