Taskin Ahmed catch: The Bangladeshi fast bowler dived to his left to grab a one-handed stunner at the McLean Park.

During the second T20I of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of New Zealand in Napier, Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed made amends for his high economy rate by a stellar on-field contribution which led to a dismissal.

It all happened on the last delivery of the powerplay when Guptill hoicked a Mohammad Saifuddin delivery on the leg-side. In what was an ordinary on the leg-side meant to be hit, Guptill hit it on its way but little did he know that it would result in his departure after scoring 21 (18) with the help of two fours and a six.

Ahmed, who was fielding at short fine leg, had minimal time to complete the catch but this was where he surprised one and all including himself by grabbing a breathtaking one-handed catch by diving to his left.

Introduced into the attack as a first-change bowler in the fourth over, Ahmed conceded 35 runs in his first three over but drew first blood by dismiss New Zealand opening batsman Finn Allen (17).

Much like Ahmed, Saifuddin also leaked a lot of runs at the McLean Park tonight despite picking the priced wicket of Guptill.
