“Couldn’t wait to put it on”: David Warner expresses excitement after wearing SRH IPL 2021 jersey
David Warner expresses excitement: The captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently undergoing a mandatory quarantine period.
Australia opening batsman David Warner is all set to represent Indian Premier League franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad for the seventh time in his career.
Warner, who had made his IPL debut for Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) in 2009, had played five seasons for them before joining Hyderabad. Warner, who was handed the leadership role in IPL 2015, had led Sunrisers to a title victory in 2016.
Apart from his captaincy skills, SRH have also thrived on Warner’s supreme batting numbers which have seen him scoring 3,819 runs for them in 87 innings at an average and strike rate of 52.32 and 144.99 respectively including two centuries and 38 half-centuries.

Having received their kit for IPL 2021, Warner recorded a video expressing excitement ahead of Hyderabad’s season opener against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 11.
“Hey, everyone. I just received my playing kit and I could not wait to put it on. Pumped to get out of here [quarantine room] in a couple of days and join the guys at the training park ahead of our first game here in Chennai,” Warner said in the video.

Sunrisers, who had almost all facets covered before the IPL 2021 auction held in Chennai earlier this year, hardly participated in the process. Their only three buys in the auction comprised of players such as Kedar Jadhav (INR 2 crore), Mujeeb ur Rahman (INR 1.5 crore), J Suchith (INR 30 lakh).
After playing their first five league matches in Chennai, SRH will move to Delhi, Kolkata and Bengaluru for the remaining part of the league stage.
