“What are these double standards?”: Difference in punishments for Kristaps Porzingis and LeBron James makes fans and the players question the NBA
Mavs’ star Kristaps Porzingis was slapped with a $50,000 fine for going to a club during the playoffs, while LeBron James faced no consequences
The Dallas Mavericks are currently in Los Angeles, where they are facing the Clippers for their first-round playoff series. After winning the first contest, the Mavs would like to finish strong tonight as well. They head home after tonight, for the next two games. Recently the NBA slapped the Mavericks’ star big Kristaps Porzingis with a hefty $50k fine for visiting a club.
Dallas Mavericks’ Kristaps Porzingis has been fined $50,000 for violating the rule prohibiting players from going into bar, club, lounge or similar establishment regardless of vaccination status, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Porzingis attended a club on Sunday.

This violation is being compared to the one which was committed by LeBron James, not more than a week ago.
How were the violations committed by LeBron James and Kristaps Porzingis not the same?
Both the NBA players recently committed violations, however, only one was slapped with a fine. LeBron James just received a warning notification when he was out at an outdoor launch event. Porzingis, on the other hand, was slapped with a $50,000 fine.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania asked NBA spokesperson Mike Bass about the same, the only answer was ‘the violations were different.’
When reached for comment on difference between Porzingis-LeBron James‘ situation, NBA spokesman Mike Bass: “While we understand the inclination to compare this incident to protocol violations by other players, including LeBron James, those facts are very different.” Statement: pic.twitter.com/MxbeDkVQz4

It isn’t sure whether Porzingis would miss time, but it is unlikely. The Mavericks would need production from the big, as the defense would focus a lot more on Luka Doncic. Porzingis and the other Mavs players need to step up tonight and compliment their leader.
NBA Fans react to Kristaps Porzingis getting fined
The way Kristaps Porzingis got fined, while LeBron James got away with just a warning bugged most of the NBA fans. They made sure to make themselves heard and had the funniest reactions. Here are a few of them.

At the end of the day, nothing that is said and done can change the call. Hopefully, this fine would fire up Kristaps for a huge showing against the Clippers.
